Instructional courses are the best way to learn to play safely in the mountains. Most of the equipment required for a course can be rented and some is provided. If you are already a group of four or more we can arrange a special course, especially in May and June. Intermediate, rescue, and mountaineering courses can also be organized.

Introduction to Rock Climbing  

This course introduces the beginner to the basics of rock climbing. At the end of the course participants will be able to set up their own short climbs. Basic knots, rappelling and safety systems will be covered. This is a basic course for those that have only climbed indoors before, and will give a foundation for future skills. View course detail

Alpine Rock Experience

This teaches the basics of alpine rock climbing, movement on easy multi-pitch terrain, short roping and we will spend the second day on an easier alpine rock peak. An excellent course for the avid scrambler, neophyte mountaineer, and those wanting to scramble on steeper mountain terrain. Some experience is recommended though not essential. View course detail

We are not setting up fixed dates but rather inviting groups of 2 or more to arrange for their best times. We are quite flexible for dates and it is easier for groups or individuals to plan their times with us.

Cost: $320.00 for 2 days, maximum 3 participants. ( Not included: 5% Goods and Service Tax.)


Snow and Ice Mountaineering  

This course covers all aspects of traveling on snow and ice. Safety techniques, including self arrest and crevasse rescue are covered, as well as the placement of snow and ice anchors. Add a third day and use your new skills under the guidance of your instructor to ascend the classic North Glacier route on Mt. Athabasca reaching 11,452' at the Columbia Icefields. Avalanche Skills Training Course (Introductory)

This is 2 day course that includes classroom and outdoor instruction covering: mountain snowpack, terrain, trip preparation, avalanche formation, and self rescue. This course includes Avalanche safety training for recreation as recommended by the Canadian Avalanche Centre.

The Course Cost includes an Avalanche Awareness Handbook, an "Avaluator Card" and a diploma certificate upon successful completion. View course detail

Mountain Navigation

Learn the basic skills for navigating in the mountains! This course covers maps, scales, use of compass, use of altimeter, uses of GPS and trip planning. An essential course for the mountain traveler! This one day course will be held partly in the classroom, and partly in the field.

Dates: Custom courses can be arranged by request especially for groups of 4 or more.

Cost: $150.00, (Not included: 5% Goods and Service Tax.)


Personal Guiding & Instruction

This is suited for the individual wanting one-on-one instruction. For groups, special trips are routinely arranged.

Cost: *$400.00/day, (*Basic rate) Longer peaks and technical ascents may have a surcharge depending on the route.

Services include: Rock Climbing & Mountaineering, Avalanche Awareness and Rescue, Mountain Rescue, Ice Climbing, Waterfall Ice Ski Mountaineering, Ski Touring. (Not included: 5% Goods and Service Tax.)


Intermediate rock/Basic Rescue

This course is the intro to "Trad" climbing. We will cover the basics of placing gear, managing multi-pitch systems, safety in rappelling and lowering, and cover the basics of self rescue.

This is an important course for the aspiring alpine rock climber.

Dates: 2016 June 11-12, Aug 6-7

Cost: $320.00, Maximum 3:1 ratio!( Not included:5% Goods and Service Tax.)



Guided Rock Climbs

Numerous Rock climbing possibilities are available in the Jasper area. From short sport climbs, multi pitch cragging, to long alpine rock climbs. There is a great variety of routes on both limestone and quartzite. We can recommend a tailor made adventure or learning experience. Most equipment can be provided, some rented. Waterfall Ice Climbing

Introductory, Intermediate courses or guided waterfall climbing is available on request.

We specialize in one day intro trips which include 2 locations. We start with some basic technique, then spend the afternoon in a "out of the way" canyon. Some equipment may have to be rented depending on group size. Cost vary depending on group size.


Ski Touring

Ski Touring is the way to explore the mountains in the winter. Numerous day tours and overnight tours are available. We can organize all the logistics, either hut to hut or camping !

We are holding openings from mid April to mid May for groups interested in ski tours. Contact us for details.
